Rug Sale
What a fantastic day! We had well organised year 5 and 6 students selling treasures for the rest of the school to buy. The junior children absolutely loved going to the multi- purpose room to shop and the seniors were so patient and helpful teaching them about the value of their coins. True Harewood spirit in action - I'm so proud!

Choir
I was so proud of our choir performance in the Chrsitchurch Schools Music Festival. The singing and enthusiasm was wonderful! Mrs Argyle did an awesome job teaching the songs. Matthew did so well singing in the special choir and Ashley played skilfully in the concert band. It was great to have such a large number of students involved! I know there were lots of very proud parents too!

Zenny
Well done to all our amazing artists! Zenny looks awesome. I especially love the eyelashes - a favourite feature of mine of real giraffes. Watch out for lots of giraffes around Christchurch very soon!

Athletics Day
What a fun day! I'm so proud of everyone for the effort they put into Athletics Day. I loved seeing people supporting and encouraging each other - especially our 11 year olds helping the 5 year olds!
A big "thank you" to Miss France for her organisation, and to the teachers, parents and children for making the day so successful.

Kapa Haka Rehearsal
Our kapa haka group had their dress rehearsal for the Cultural Festival. I was so proud of how well they did! It was really nice to hear the story behind the meaning of the designs on the uniforms. Ka pai!

Proud
I am so proud of the great work happening everyday around our school. As I walk around the school I see learning happening in so many different ways and technology being integrated as a tool as part of this.
The class blogs show lots of different things that are happening too!
Well done Harewood School!

Harewood Hens
The hens have settled in at Harewood after their first few days with lots of rain. They are very friendly and enjoy nibbling grass so, if you havent already, go around and see them.

Tabloids Day
On Friday 21 February we had a fabulous fun tabloids day. We participated in fun activities like gumboot throwing, scooter rides, dress up relays. What was your favourite activity?
Lunch and our fruit snack and ice lock were paid for by the Red Cross Children's grant. Thanks Red Cross for helping make our day!
Bouncing bunnies
On Sunday when I was at school I had visit from a bunny rabbit - he was nibbling grass outside my office. We have had lots of rabbits on our field digging holes and nibbling grass. While rabbits make lovely pets we don't want wild ones making holes in our field. Any ideas how we could get rid of them?

Mihi whakatau
It was great to welcome our new school students and families to Harewood with a Mihi whakatau on Friday morning. I was so proud of how well Ashley, Abby, Katie, and Elise did the karanga. Well done girls. Miss Woods impressed us all when she shared her mihi.
All the teachers know their mihi so ask them to share them with you.
Yummy Garden
The cattle had the Friday night munchies and have nibbled lots of the plants in our vege garden.
Their favourite vegetable was silverbeet!
Unfortunately they also went out onto Harewood Rd - not a safe thing to do!
